🏈 The Monsoon Pause — June to September
The Himalayan passes close in late June. The Manali–Leh highway and Spiti Valley become impassable or genuinely dangerous. Many riders store in Delhi for 3–4 months, fly home for summer, and return in September to pick up exactly where they left off.

| 1 | Fuel Under one month: leave the tank full. Over one month: full tank prevents moisture and rust. For carburetted Royal Enfields, drain the carburettor float bowl to prevent varnish — we do this at check-in for long-term storage. |
| 2 | Battery A bike left connected will lose charge in 4–6 weeks. We maintain stored bikes on trickle charging. For 3+ months, disconnect the negative terminal at check-in — we handle this on request. |
| 3 | Tyres Inflate to maximum recommended pressure — slightly over normal riding pressure. Reduces flat-spot risk from the bike sitting static. We check and correct tyre pressure in our monthly check-up. |
| 4 | Chain Clean and lubricate before storage. A well-lubed chain will not rust during a 3–4 month storage period. We apply chain lube at check-in for all stored bikes. |

What to Look for in Any Motorcycle Storage Facility in India

| Physical security | Locked gated perimeter, CCTV coverage, on-site staff. Ask: can anyone walk in off the street? This is the most critical question for a foreign traveller. |

QCan I store my bike if I didn’t rent it from Stoneheadbikes?
Yes. We accept privately owned motorcycles at our Delhi facility. Contact us with your bike model and storage duration — we will need a copy of the RC and your passport details at check-in.
QWhat if my return date changes while the bike is in storage?
Happens all the time in India. Just WhatsApp us your new return date and we will adjust the arrangement. Pricing is prorated for extensions beyond your original period.
QIs my motorcycle insured during storage?
Your third-party insurance remains valid but typically does not cover theft or damage in storage. We strongly recommend comprehensive insurance for the storage period, especially for premium bikes. Ask us at check-in and we can point you to the right insurer.

Yes — this is one of the most common collection scenarios. We also offer bike pickup at Aerocity Metro Station, 1km from T3 International. Give us your flight details when you book your collection and we will have everything ready.
QI want to rent a motorcycle when I return, not collect a stored one. What are my options?
