3 Easy Steps to Rent a Royal Enfield

3 Easy Steps to Rent a Royal Enfield and Explore India Like Never Before

3 Easy Steps to Rent a Royal Enfield

Imagine winding roads lined with hills, the thump of a Royal Enfield beneath you, and endless horizons calling your name. India becomes a different country when you travel by bike. Renting a Royal Enfield gives you the freedom to see it at your own pace. It’s a way to escape packed tour buses and noisy trains, letting you pick your adventure every day.

This guide gives you three easy, actionable steps to rent a Royal Enfield and make your trip across India unforgettable. Whether you’re new to bikes or have clocked thousands of kilometers, these tips help you get started and ride with confidence.

Step 1: Pick the Right Royal Enfield and Rental Service

Not all Royal Enfields are made equal or fit your travel needs the same way. The Classic 350 is great for city streets, while the Himalayan handles rougher mountain roads with ease. Here’s what to consider before you book:

  • Model: Think about your route. City travel? Go for lighter models like the Classic or Meteor. Planning to tackle the Himalayas? The Himalayan or Scram 411 is built for rugged tracks.
  • Size and Comfort: Choose a bike you can handle easily, especially if you’re new to Enfields. Long rides need a comfortable seat and posture.
  • Rental Terms: Always read the fine print. Check what’s included—helmet, roadside assistance, insurance—and what costs extra.

For a full breakdown on different models and how to match your bike to your trip, visit this detailed resource on renting an Enfield in India.

Quick Tips:

  • Inspect your bike before the handover. Look for any scratches, check the brakes, tires, and lights.
  • Take pictures as evidence of the bike’s condition.
  • Test ride around the block and listen for odd sounds.
Model Best For Seat Height Weight
Classic 350 City, Highway 805 mm 195 kg
Himalayan Mountains, Offroad 800 mm 199 kg
Interceptor Highway, Touring 804 mm 202 kg

Step 2: Know the Rules and Prep Proper Paperwork

Every state in India has its twist on road rules, especially for two-wheelers. Carrying correct documents saves you headaches at checkpoints.

Must-have Documents:

  • Valid driving license with motorcycle endorsement
  • Passport-size photos
  • Copies of your passport and visa (if you’re visiting)
  • Rental agreement filled and signed
  • Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate for the bike

Some rental agencies might ask for a security deposit or leave your passport as collateral, so always confirm in advance.

You’ll want to be extra cautious if you plan on crossing state borders. While most agencies cover basic paperwork, check about permits—some states have unique requirements, especially in the north and northeast.

For a hands-on account of paperwork and smooth process, see this rider’s recap of their first motorcycle trip across India.

Helpful Reminders:

  • Carry digital and physical copies of all documents.
  • Use a waterproof pouch for safety during the monsoon.
  • Save local emergency and rental agency numbers on your phone.

Step 3: Plan Your Route and Pack Smart

An unforgettable ride isn’t just about the bike or the scenery. Planning makes the difference between a smooth journey and a series of headaches. Here’s how to set yourself up for success:

  • Route: Use Google Maps or apps like RideWithGPS to plot your journey. Mark fuel stops and rest points.
  • Weather: Check forecasts daily. India’s weather changes fast, especially when crossing regions.
  • Luggage: Stick to the essentials. Heavy bags make handling tough. Use saddle bags rather than backpacks for balance.
  • Gear: Always ride in a helmet and protective gear, even on short trips. Carry a raincoat and basic tool kit.

You’ll also want to keep simple maintenance skills in your pocket. Learn to check tire pressure, adjust your chain, and top up oil. Enfield rentals often give you a tool kit, but knowing how to use it will save the day.

Before a long-distance trip, it’s wise to review reminders from seasoned riders. This discussion outlines valuable pointers on what to keep in mind for Royal Enfield journeys.

Packing Checklist:

  • Portable phone charger
  • Water bottle
  • Energy snacks
  • Spare cash for places without card facilities
  • Copy of emergency contacts

Mistakes to Avoid When Renting

Getting caught up in the excitement is easy, but these common pitfalls can cut your adventure short:

  • Not inspecting the bike with the rental agent
  • Ignoring insurance or basic paperwork
  • Overloading the bike with luggage
  • Riding without checking local road rules

Conclusion: Your Royal Enfield Journey Awaits

Taking off on a Royal Enfield across India is one of the most rewarding ways to see the country. You set your pace, meet people along the way, and discover places you’d miss behind a window.

Pick a bike that matches your skill and journey. Carry the right paperwork, plan smart, and pack light. With a bit of common sense and a sense of adventure, you’ll have stories (and photos) to last a lifetime.

Motorcycle Tours in India for Foreigners

Why Motorcycle Tours in India for Foreigners Are So Popular in 2025

Motorcycle Tours in India for Foreigners

Why India is Becoming a Top Choice for Motorcycle Tours for Foreigners

If you love motorcycles and want an adventure, motorcycle tours in India for foreigners are an awesome idea. India is a huge and exciting country with many different places to ride, a rich culture, and affordable prices. No wonder more and more people from around the world want to explore India on two wheels.

I’ve been writing about travel and SEO for 25 years, and I can tell you India has become a favorite spot for motorcycle trips. Whether you want to ride in the mountains of Ladakh or explore the deserts of Rajasthan, India has something special for every rider.

Here’s a fun fact: Adventure travel is growing super fast worldwide—about 20% each year. And India is leading the way! Between 2018 and 2023, the number of foreign motorcycle tourists in India jumped by 35%.

In this post, I’ll tell you why India is so popular for motorcycle tours, share some cool routes, explain how to rent bikes, and give you some tips to make your trip safe and fun.

Why is India So Great for Motorcycle Tours?

  1. Different Roads for Every Rider

India’s biggest strength is how different its landscapes are. You can ride through high mountains, dry deserts, or green hills. If you want to ride in the mountains, the Leh-Ladakh area is famous. It has some of the highest roads in the world! One of them, Khardung La Pass, is over 17,500 feet high. That’s like riding on top of a giant.

Here’s a funny way to think about it: India’s motorcycle routes are like a box of chocolates—you never know what adventure you’ll get, but every ride tastes amazing!

If you want something less tough, try the deserts of Rajasthan. You’ll get smooth roads, big open spaces, and visit beautiful forts and palaces. Perfect if you want a mix of riding and culture.

  1. Cheap Bike Rentals and Travel

Riding a bike in India won’t empty your wallet. Rent Royal Enfield in India costs between $10 and $25 per day. That’s way cheaper than in Europe or the US.

Most people rent bikes in cities like Delhi or Manali. These places have good rental companies that keep bikes in great shape and help travelers if they get stuck.

  1. Amazing Culture Along the Way

Riding in India isn’t just about the road—it’s about the people and places you meet. You might stop for chai (Indian tea) with friendly locals, watch colorful festivals, or explore old temples. Every ride is full of stories you’ll tell for years.

  1. Better Support for Foreign Riders

A few years ago, riding a motorcycle in India was only for very brave people. Now, many companies offer tours especially for foreigners. They can help you with guides, support vehicles, places to stay, and routes. It’s much easier and safer today.

Popular Motorcycle Routes for Foreign Tourists

The Epic Himalayan Ride: Leh-Ladakh

If you want the ultimate adventure, try the Leh-Ladakh motorcycle tour. You’ll see snowy mountains, beautiful valleys, and visit Tibetan Buddhist culture. The trip from Manali to Leh is about 400 kilometers with lots of twists and turns. It’s tough but unforgettable.

Rajasthan’s Desert Ride: Jaipur to Jaisalmer

For desert lovers, ride from Jaipur to Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. You’ll see huge deserts, colorful markets, and historic forts. The roads are smooth and the views are amazing.

Relaxing Coastal Rides: Kerala and Goa

If you want a calm ride with beaches and palm trees, Kerala and Goa are perfect. These routes are easy and fun for riders who want a break from tough mountain roads.

How to Rent a Motorcycle in India

Important Papers You Need

To ride in India, foreign tourists must have an International Driving Permit (IDP) plus their regular driver’s license. Rental shops might also ask for your passport and a deposit.

Picking the Right Bike

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is great for mountains and rough roads. The Classic 350 is better for cities and highways. Both are easy to find and rent.

Good Rental Companies

StoneheadBikes is one popular company that rents well-kept Royal Enfields. They also give helmets, rain gear, and GPS options to help you ride safely.

Safety Tips for Riding in India

  • Always wear a helmet and protective gear.
  • Stick to popular and safer routes if you’re new.
  • Indian traffic can be crazy—watch out!
  • Keep your important documents safe but handy.
  • Drink lots of water and take breaks, especially in the mountains.

Why Join Group Motorcycle Tours?

If you’re worried about riding alone, group tours are a great idea. Many companies organize group rides with guides, backup cars, and booked hotels. You’ll feel safer and meet new friends.

Best Time to Ride in India

The best months to ride are October to March. The weather is cooler and roads are dry. For mountain rides, late spring or early fall is best to avoid snow and rain.

Fun Tips for Your Indian Motorcycle Adventure

  • Learn a few Hindi words like “Namaste” (hello). Locals love it when you try!
  • Carry cash because some places don’t take cards.
  • Check the weather every day.
  • Always check your bike—tires, brakes, and lights—before you start riding.
  • Stop and enjoy local food and culture—it’s all part of the fun!

More and more people are opting to rent motorcycles for group tours in Delhi to experience the city and venture beyond the capital. Riding through Delhi’s busy streets or traveling to nearby towns on a motorbike is not only exciting but also gives you a sense of freedom that other forms of transportation can’t match.

The demand for motorcycle rentals in Delhi has been steadily increasing. According to a report from Statista, the motorcycle market in India has been growing at an annual rate of 7.7% from 2020 to 2025, with group motorcycle tours seeing a significant rise.

In fact, the Indian motorcycle market reached ₹80,000 crore in 2023, reflecting a continuous increase in demand, especially for rental services catering to adventure activities like group tours.

Whether you’re exploring Delhi’s bustling streets or setting off on a longer road trip, renting motorcycles for group trips allows you to explore at your own pace. And when you ride together with friends or family, it adds to the excitement of the journey.

The Benefits of Group Motorcycle Tours in Delhi and Beyond

Renting motorcycles for group tours in Delhi isn’t just about exploring the city—it also gives you the opportunity to take longer trips outside the capital. Here’s why group motorcycle tours are such a great choice:

  1. Affordable Group Motorcycle Tours

Renting motorcycles for group trips in Delhi is often cheaper than other modes of transportation. When you rent bikes as a group, you can share the costs, making it much more affordable. Many rental companies offer group discounts, so each rider can pay less.

Most rental agencies also offer all-inclusive prices, covering things like fuel, helmets, and insurance. This transparency makes it easier to know exactly how much you’ll spend, eliminating any unexpected costs.

  1. Freedom to Explore Delhi and Beyond

One of the biggest advantages of renting motorcycles for group trips is the freedom it offers. Whether you’re cruising around Delhi or taking a long road trip, you’re in control of your journey. You can visit famous Delhi landmarks like the Red Fort, India Gate, and Humayun’s Tomb, or head out to nearby cities like Jaipur or Agra.

If you’re up for a longer trip, you can take the bikes to explore the scenic hills of Uttarakhand or the charming town of Rishikesh. Having a motorcycle allows you to explore at your own pace, giving you more freedom than other modes of transport.

  1. Camaraderie and Adventure

Riding together as a group adds an exciting layer to your trip. A motorcycle tour is more than just a way to travel—it’s an opportunity to bond with friends and family while sharing an adventure. Whether you’re navigating the busy streets of Delhi or riding through the peaceful hills, the experience of riding together makes it all the more special.

It’s like taking a road trip with friends in a car, but on two wheels. The shared experiences along the way make for great memories.

Many people rent motorcycles for group trips to mark special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries, creating unforgettable moments on the road.

How to Rent Motorcycles for Group Tours in Delhi and Beyond

Ready to hit the road with your friends? Here’s how you can rent motorcycles for your group tour in Delhi:

  1. Choose a Reliable Rental Agency

It’s important to choose a rental agency that’s known for providing quality bikes and excellent service. Many rental companies in Delhi specialize in group motorcycle tours, offering a variety of bikes such as Royal Enfield Himalayans, KTM Dukes, and Bajaj Pulsars.

Check customer reviews and ratings to ensure the company is trustworthy and offers well-maintained bikes. Also, confirm if the company provides safety gear like helmets, knee guards, and gloves.

  1. Pick the Right Bike for Your Trip

The type of bike you rent will depend on your planned trip. For city tours, lighter bikes like the KTM Duke or Bajaj Pulsar are perfect for navigating through traffic. However, if you plan to venture off-road or travel to hilly regions, bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan are better suited, thanks to their strong suspension and off-road capability.

Be sure to choose bikes that align with your trip, whether it’s for exploring the city or taking on a more rugged terrain.

  1. Plan Your Route and Stay Safe

Safety should always be a priority. Whether you’re riding in the city or heading out on a longer road trip, it’s essential that everyone wears proper protective gear. Most rental companies provide helmets and other gear, but it’s always best to confirm this in advance.

Before you begin, plan your route carefully. Some rental agencies offer guided tours with pre-planned routes, but if you’re planning an independent adventure, make sure to research the best routes for your group.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 vs. Royal Enfield Scram 440: Which Adventure Bike is Best for You?

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 vs. Royal Enfield Scram 440

Royal Enfield bikes are known for their strong build and ability to handle tough roads. If you’re someone who enjoys long trips or off-road adventures, you’ve probably heard of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the Royal Enfield Scram 440. These two bikes are popular choices for riders who love adventure, but each has something different to offer. Renting a Himalayan 450 on rent or Scram 440 on rent is a great way to try them out without buying one. If you’re in Delhi, Stonehead Bikes offers both bikes for rent. Let’s compare these two bikes to help you decide which one is right for you.

Price and Value for Money

When you’re thinking about renting or buying a bike, price is always important. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 costs about ₹2,85,000 (ex-showroom). This is a bit higher because it has more powerful features and is built for more extreme off-road adventures.

The Scram 440, on the other hand, is priced at ₹2,08,000 (ex-showroom). It’s cheaper and still a great option for city riding and some light off-roading. Renting a Himalayan 450 on rent or Scram 440 on rent gives you the chance to enjoy these bikes without the bigger price tag.

If you’re looking for a bike rental in DelhiStonehead Bikes offers both of these models for rent at reasonable prices. Renting can be a good way to enjoy these bikes for a short period and decide which one works best for you.

Engine and Performance

The Himalayan 450 comes with a 452cc engine that produces 39.47 bhp at 8,000 rpm. This gives it a lot of power, making it a great choice for long rides and tough off-road trails. If you want to ride through mountains or rough paths, the Himalayan has the strength to get you there.

The Scram 440 has a 443cc engine, which makes 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm. While it’s not as powerful as the Himalayan, it’s still strong enough for regular city rides and short trips. If you’re looking for a bike that handles daily traffic and some light off-roading, the Scram is perfect.

If you’re not sure which bike suits you, consider renting the Himalayan 450 on rent for a more powerful experience, or try the Scram 440 on rent if you want something more balanced for city use and weekend trips.

Fuel Economy

When you rent a bike, you want to know how much fuel it will use. The Himalayan 450 gives a mileage of about 30 kmpl, which is good for longer rides. With its bigger engine, it can take you farther before you need to stop for fuel.

The Scram 440 gives about 29.5 kmpl, which is pretty close to the Himalayan’s mileage. Even though it’s a little less, it still works well for short trips and city riding. If you’re planning to rent either bike, both options are great for covering a good distance before needing to refuel.

Comfort and Design

Comfort is key when you’re riding long distances. The Himalayan 450 has a seat height of 825mm and a high ground clearance of 230mm, making it perfect for off-roading. It’s designed for taller riders and offers great comfort for long rides. The wider seat and taller height give you a better position for handling tough trails and bumpy roads.

The Scram 440 has a seat height of 795mm, which is lower and better for shorter riders. It’s also more suited for city riding. If you plan to use the bike mostly in the city or for short trips, the Scram might be more comfortable. However, if you’re going on an off-road trip, the Himalayan’s higher seat height and better ground clearance will give you more confidence.

If you’re thinking about renting a bike, try both models to see which one feels better. Renting a Himalayan 450 on rent is a good choice for those planning longer, more rugged rides, while the Scram 440 on rent is better for everyday comfort.

Suspension and Handling

The Himalayan 450 has an advanced upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. This makes the bike very stable, even on rough terrain. It’s built to handle bumpy, rocky, and uneven roads with ease.

The Scram 440 uses a telescopic front fork and a monoshock rear. This setup is simpler but still provides good stability for everyday roads and light off-roading. If you’re planning to ride on smooth city roads or do some light trail riding, the Scram 440 should be fine. But if you want a bike that can handle tougher off-road challenges, the Himalayan 450 is the better choice.

Both bikes offer great handling for different types of rides, so think about where you’ll be riding the most. Renting a Himalayan 450 on rent is great for extreme off-road rides, while the Scram 440 on rent is a better option for everyday commuting.

Safety Features

Both the Himalayan 450 and the Scram 440 have dual-channel ABS. This helps you stop safely in slippery conditions, which is very important when riding in the rain or on uneven surfaces.

The Himalayan 450 has some added tech features like a 4-inch TFT display with navigation, which can help you on long trips. It also has ride-by-wire technology, making the throttle more responsive and easier to control.

The Scram 440 has a simpler setup with an analogue speedometer and digital odometer. While it doesn’t have the high-tech features of the Himalayan, it’s still very safe and easy to use.

If you want more advanced features and safety options, the Himalayan 450 on rent is the way to go. But if you want a more straightforward, reliable ride, the Scram 440 on rent will get you where you need to go safely.

Conclusion: Which Bike Should You Rent?

Both the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the Scram 440 offer something unique. The Himalayan 450 is best for adventure riders who want to tackle tough terrains and go on long-distance trips. Its powerful engine, great suspension, and extra features make it perfect for those who want to push the bike to its limits.

On the other hand, the Scram 440 is a better choice for people who need a bike for everyday use, commuting, and light off-roading. It’s more affordable, comfortable for shorter rides, and still provides enough power for casual adventures.
