Why Riders from Around the World Choose This Tour
The classic Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra, Jaipur — is India's most visited tourist circuit. We've taken that iconic route and made it exceptional in two ways: we've added the romantic lakeside city of Udaipur, and we've put you on a Royal Enfield instead of a tour bus.
What does that mean in practice? It means you'll pull up to the Taj Mahal at sunrise, engine cooling after a highway run. You'll thread through Jaipur's old bazaars at your own pace. You'll watch the sun drop into Lake Pichola from the saddle of your bike. These aren't tourist experiences — they're traveller experiences, and they're the reason our riders keep coming back.

Choose Your Royal Enfield
As an Official Royal Enfield Rental Partner, we operate the largest and newest Royal Enfield fleet in India. All bikes are 2023–2025 models, BS6-compliant, and pass a 40-point mechanical inspection before every tour departure.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 — Recommended for most riders
The most capable bike in our fleet. The 452cc liquid-cooled engine handles Rajasthan's highways at sustained cruising speeds comfortably. The upright adventure ergonomics suit long riding days, and the longer suspension travel absorbs Rajasthan's occasional road surprises. If you've ridden adventure bikes before, this is your machine. Seat height: 825mm.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 411— The original adventure classic
The bike that opened up Indian adventure riding to the world. The 411cc engine is proven, bulletproof, and perfectly matched to Rajasthan's roads. Slightly more relaxed than the 450, it suits riders who prefer a gentler power delivery. Excellent for beginners graduating from smaller bikes. Seat height: 800mm.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 — The touring icon
If you want the quintessential Royal Enfield experience — the thump, the posture, the heritage — the Classic 350 is it. It's supremely comfortable for a full day on India's highways, with a riding position that keeps your back happy. The narrower profile also makes city navigation easier. Best for experienced riders who prioritise comfort over adventure geometry. Seat height: 805mm.
Bike preference can be indicated at booking. Subject to availability on your chosen departure date. No additional charge between models — all are included at the same tour price.
Essential Information for International Riders
This section addresses the most important questions from our international guests. Please read carefully before booking.
This section is specifically for riders from outside India. If you're an Indian national, your domestic licence is sufficient — skip to the itinerary below.
International Driving Permit (IDP) — Required
Yes, you need one. Indian law requires foreign nationals to carry both their home country motorcycle licence and a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) to legally ride any motorcycle in India. Your IDP must specifically cover Category A (motorcycles).
How to get one: Contact your national automobile association — AA (UK), AAA (USA), ADAC (Germany), RAA/NRMA (Australia) etc. Processing takes 1–5 working days and typically costs USD $15–$25. Apply at least 2 weeks before your departure.
We verify your IDP and home licence at bike handover on Day 1. Riders without a valid IDP cannot be given a motorcycle — no exceptions.
India Tourist Visa
Most nationalities — including US, UK, EU, Australian, Canadian, and New Zealand citizens — are eligible for the India e-Visa, which can be applied for online at indianvisaonline.gov.in. Processing takes 3–5 working days. Apply at least 2 weeks before travel. Ensure your visa covers the full duration of your stay.
We recommend checking current visa requirements for your specific nationality at the Indian Embassy website or contacting us — requirements do change, and we keep up to date.
Travel Insurance — Strongly Recommended
Standard travel insurance does not typically cover motorcycle riding. You need a policy that explicitly includes motorcycle riding (often listed as 'self-drive motorcycles' or 'adventure activities') and medical evacuation from India.
Providers popular with our international riders include: World Nomads (worldwide), True Traveller (UK/EU), and SafetyWing. When purchasing, confirm that the policy covers riding motorcycles up to [500cc] in India. Show us your policy confirmation at check-in.
StoneheadBikes provides third-party liability insurance for the motorcycle. This does not cover personal medical expenses, which are your responsibility.
Health & Medical
No specific vaccinations are required to enter India, but we recommend consulting your GP or travel clinic 6–8 weeks before departure. Standard recommendations for India include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and ensuring your routine vaccinations are up to date. Carry any personal medications in original packaging with a doctor's letter.
The nearest hospitals to our route: Agra (Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital), Jaipur (Fortis Escorts, SMS Medical College), Udaipur (GBH American Hospital). Your guide has all emergency contact numbers.
Physical Requirements
This tour is designed for riders who are comfortable riding a motorcycle for 4–6 consecutive hours. You don't need to be an expert — many of our most satisfied customers joined with 6–12 months of riding experience. You do need to be confident at 80–90 km/h on open roads and comfortable with moderate traffic in city environments.
There is no off-road riding on this tour. All roads are paved. The Himalayan passes and challenging terrain of our Ladakh tours are not part of this route.
Where You'll Stay — Handpicked Heritage Hotels
We spend as much time choosing our accommodation as we do planning the riding routes. Every property on this tour is personally vetted by our team for cleanliness, service, location, and atmosphere. We favour heritage properties — converted havelis, former maharaja guesthouses, and boutique hotels with character — over generic business hotels.
What to expect
- Comfortable twin or double rooms with private en-suite bathrooms
- Air conditioning (essential in Rajasthan, October–March)
- Daily breakfast included at all properties
- Secure motorcycle parking at or near each hotel
- Wi-Fi (speeds vary — Udaipur has the most reliable connection)
- Properties typically rated 3–4 stars equivalent
Specific hotel names are confirmed 30 days before departure and shared with all riders. We reserve the right to substitute equivalent properties in case of unforeseen circumstances — quality standard is always maintained.
Single supplement: Available on request at additional cost. Double rooms can be allocated to solo riders paired with another solo rider of the same gender, or a single room allocated at supplement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this tour suitable for beginner riders?
Yes, provided you have basic motorcycle experience and a valid licence. You should be comfortable riding at 80–90 km/h on open roads before joining this tour. All riding is on paved roads — there is no off-road section. Our guides adjust the pace to the group, and the support vehicle is always close by. If you're unsure whether your experience level is sufficient, WhatsApp us and we'll talk it through honestly.
Do I need an International Driving Permit (IDP) to ride in India?
Yes — this is a legal requirement for all foreign nationals riding a motorcycle in India. You must carry both your home country motorcycle licence AND a valid IDP. Obtain your IDP from your national automobile association before travelling. Processing takes 1–5 working days and typically costs USD $15–25. We verify documents at bike handover — riders without a valid IDP cannot receive a motorcycle.
What's the best time of year to do this tour?
October to March is the ideal season for Rajasthan. Daytime temperatures range from 15°C to 28°C (59°F to 82°F) — perfect riding weather. December and January nights can be cold (5–10°C) — pack a thermal layer. We avoid June to September entirely due to extreme heat (45°C+) and monsoon conditions. Our fixed departure dates all fall within the October–March window.
Can I bring a pillion rider on this tour?
Yes. Pillions are welcome on all bikes in our fleet. Your pillion must be prepared for 4–6 hours daily on the back of a motorcycle — we recommend they wear comfortable, close-fitting clothing and bring their own helmet (or rent one from us). The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has the most comfortable pillion seat of our fleet for long days.
What happens if my bike breaks down during the tour?
Our dedicated support vehicle travels with the group at all times, carrying a spare parts kit and a qualified mechanic. In 15+ years of running this route, we have never had a rider stranded. Our 40-point pre-ride inspection before every departure makes mechanical failures extremely rare.
What travel insurance do I need?
You need a policy that specifically covers motorcycle riding (listed as 'self-drive motorcycles' or 'adventure activities') AND medical evacuation from India. Standard travel insurance does not cover motorcycle riding. Confirm motorcycle coverage before purchasing.
Can I extend the tour or customise the itinerary?
Yes. We offer several extensions: a 2-day Jodhpur extension (Blue City + Mehrangarh Fort) departing from Udaipur, a Jaisalmer desert extension (2–3 days), and a full 10-day Grand Rajasthan tour. We also offer private departures on any dates you choose, with a fully customisable itinerary. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Is Udaipur included in the standard Golden Triangle tour?
Not in the classic Golden Triangle (Delhi–Agra–Jaipur), no. This is our Extended Golden Triangle tour, which we designed specifically to include Udaipur — widely considered one of the most beautiful cities in Asia. The additional leg adds one riding day and one extra night but transforms the tour from a cultural circuit into a genuine Rajasthan experience.
What is your cancellation policy for international bookings?
Cancellations made more than 90 days before departure receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee. 60–90 days: 50% refund. Less than 60 days: no refund. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation. Full policy is confirmed in your booking documentation.
Can I combine this tour with a Ladakh or Himalaya tour?
Absolutely — many of our international riders do exactly this. Rajasthan is best October–March; Ladakh is best May–September. A popular combination is: arrive India in October, ride the Golden Triangle tour, then return for Ladakh in the following May–June. We offer a 10% loyalty discount on a second booking. Ask us about our combined India adventure itineraries.
Ready to Ride India's Royal Road?
There are very few experiences that combine history, culture, and the freedom of the open road the way this tour does. The Taj Mahal at sunrise. Jaipur's amber fort at dusk. Lake Pichola catching the evening light. And through all of it, the distinctive thump of a Royal Enfield beneath you.
Our departures fill 6–8 weeks in advance during peak season (October–December). If you're planning a trip for this season, check availability now.
