How it started<\/p>\n

A rented bike, an empty road, and nobody picking up the phone.<\/h2>\n

Khomendra Singh was working a regular office job in Delhi in 2009. The kind where Sunday comes and you\u2019re already dreading Monday. He booked a bike trip to Ladakh<\/a> \u2014 not a tour, just a rented motorcycle and open roads \u2014 and that trip was supposed to be the release valve.<\/p>\n

The bike gave up somewhere in the mountains. He called the rental agency. No answer. When he finally got back and returned the bike without any damages, they kept his deposit anyway. Said he\u2019d ridden recklessly. He hadn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t just the money. It was the feeling of being taken for a ride \u2014 figuratively \u2014 on a trip he\u2019d planned to feel free.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2009 \u2014 Year one<\/p>\n

Starting from a rented room with two motorcycles and one rule.<\/h2>\n

A colleague made an offhand joke: \u201cWhy don\u2019t you just start your own rental company?\u201d Khomendra took it seriously.<\/p>\n

In 2009, he set up shop in a rented space in East Delhi. Two bikes. He serviced them himself. He handled every customer call himself. The rule he made on day one was simple: if a rider calls, someone picks up.<\/strong> No exceptions.<\/p>\n

There was no investment, no backing, no industry playbook. Motorcycle rental in India in 2009 was essentially unregulated \u2014 no standards, no accountability, no transparency. Which meant there was room to do it properly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In early 2011, Stoneheadbikes launched what became India\u2019s first dedicated motorcycle rental website. Riders could see exactly which bikes were available, what they cost, and what the terms were \u2014 before speaking to anyone. Transparency wasn\u2019t a selling point. It was the point.<\/p>\n

From that moment, growth was steady. Not viral, not overnight \u2014 just consistent, because the experience kept delivering what it promised.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In 2023, Stoneheadbikes became an Official Royal Enfield Rentals and Tours Partner<\/strong> \u2014 a recognition that only goes to operators who meet Royal Enfield\u2019s own standards for fleet quality, safety, and rider experience.<\/p>\n
